Wait, Training AI with Swift Instead of Python? Here's Why Developers Are Paying Attention
Training AI with Swift? At first, even I thought, "Does that make sense?" But after seeing the MLX framework Apple released last year, I changed my mind. It's now possible to fine-tune models directly with Swift on Apple Silicon—on an M2 MacBook.
You know that feeling when reviewing a buyer's email and thinking, "Is this a scam?" I faced that exact situation last year.
✉️ That’s when I started integrating on-device AI into my email analysis. Since data never leaves the device, I feel much more secure pasting confidential transaction terms or draft contracts into it.
🔑 It’s now actually possible to run LLMs locally on an M2 MacBook using Apple's MLX framework — there are quite a few demos on GitHub. I'm currently using it to quietly review localized buyer contracts without relying on the cloud.
⚡ It’s not perfect yet. Trade-specific terminology still trips it up occasionally. But the simple fact that you can use it without data being leaked externally is a very compelling feature for international sales tasks.
Has anyone else tried using AI tools for buyer communication? I'm curious what you're using them for 👇
